daniel Melton

Artistic Director

Daniel Melton is a native Texan who developed his passion for theatre and music while growing up in Fort Worth. He began his professional performing career at 18 as a singer, dancer, actor, and swing at Six Flags Over Texas. Over nearly two decades—working across five different parks—Daniel built a diverse skill set spanning both performance and production, including directing, writing, producing, and scenic design.

His vocal talent as a tenor led to opportunities as a production singer with Princess Cruises and Crown Cruise Line, further expanding his experience in professional entertainment.

After relocating to the Texas Hill Country, Daniel served as Technical Director for Fredericksburg Theater Company, where he contributed significantly to both production and performance. His notable onstage roles include Greater Tuna, A Tuna Christmas, Nicely-Nicely Johnson (Guys and Dolls), King Arthur (Spamalot), Inspector Kemp (Young Frankenstein), Rooster (Annie), Bill Austin (Mamma Mia!), Miss White (Clue: The Musical), and Jinx (Forever Plaid).

Today, Daniel serves as Artistic Director of Hill Country Community Theatre, where he leads the organization's creative vision. His work focuses on artistic excellence, thoughtful storytelling, and fostering a collaborative environment for performers, designers, and production teams.

Outside of the theatre, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, Heidi, and their three children, and values the strong sense of community they have built together in the Highland Lakes area.
